The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)invites you to celebrate your ability to help others. Plus, you will have the opportunity to compete for a variety of media opportunities and ultimately for the title of Man or Woman of the Year.
You may be the special man or woman whom LLS is looking for to help advance its mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
From corporate presidents to ultramarathoners, the diverse candidates always have two qualities in common: humanity and zeal. An estimated 52,310 Americans will die from one of these blood cancers this year alone. You can help us in our fight to save lives when you accept the challenge to vie for the title of Man & Woman of the Year in Colorado!
Join us at a kickoff to start the competition, where you will receive orientation on our mission and how to run your campaign. You will have the opportunity to meet other candidates as well as the local Boy & Girl of the Year - children who have battled a blood cancer. Community sponsors will be highlighted and success stories from previous participants will be shared. Take this opportunity to socialize with your fellow candidates and enjoy the festivities.
After eight weeks of fundraising, your guests and you will join sponsors and other prominent community members at our Grand Finale Celebration for the announcement of the Man & Woman of the Year. Celebrate the outstanding achievements of all candidates while participating in the excitement of a silent auction and enjoying fabulous food, cocktails, music and dancing. Anyone is welcome. Tables are available for $1,500. Reservations may be purchased for $150.
During the following year, each community's winners "reign" in local press. All winners are recognized in a national advertisement in USA Today, which features photos of the top two fundraisers - our National Man & Woman of the Year. All candidates throughout the country are truly extraordinary individuals with amazing community outreach and fundraising skills. We thank them and all who participated in last year's event and hope to see more of you this year!
